Per your request for proposal, the Perfect Design Corporation is pleased to present for your consideration a new package design for your Elite product line of tennis balls.  As you have requested, we have created a new and exciting package that commands shelf presence.  

The well known and respected research marketing firm of Dunn and Reliable has collected data from their test marketing of the new package.  After careful data analysis, we are  pleased to announce that the early predictions indicate the new package design from the Perfect Design Corporation will initially increase sales and profit 24%.  Over the long term sales and profit will increase a remarkable 16%.

The fresh new Octagonal design for the Elite series tennis ball in standard design can hold 4 tennis balls.  The package can be easily modified to accommodate a package of two balls.  In store presence is excellent; the new packages are easily stacked for display and are stable on the shelves.  The new Octagonal package shape is a far stronger, crush resistant package because of the increased number of edges on the package.  Because the package is Octagonal and the tennis balls spherical, the product's contact area with the package is reduced allowing easier access to the product.  To add to the product's shelf appeal; new exciting colors are used in addition to the recyclable package. 

The Octagonal package has a base of 13.24 square inches and a height of 5.2 inches which equals a volume of 68.848 cubic inches.

The surface area of the Octagonal package includes:

•  a base and top which are 13.24 square inches each for a total of 26.48 square inches

• a front and a back which are 5.5" x 5.2" each for a total of 57.2 square inches

• left and right sides which are 5.2" x 1.5" each for a total of15.6 square inches

•                                                                     Total Surface Area = 99.28 square inches

The Perfect Design Corporation feels that the new updated package design meets or exceeds all of the Yellow Tennis Ball Company's design requirements and addresses the concern about falling sales.
